Rules:
- TRC’s Fishing Derby is for children aged 1-15 years old.
- All participants will be required to check-in upon arrival & must complete registration before entering the Derby.
- TRC may use my or child’s photograph, video, or other digital media in any of its publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other consideration.
- Contestants may supply their own bait; however, TRC will supply bait to participants as needed.
- All contestants should bring their own fishing equipment- TRC will have a limited supply of rods and equipment available for those who do not have their own!
- Each contestant is allowed only one fishing pole with up to two hooks on it.
- Any fish caught before the starting time of 1:00 pm will not count as part of the Derby.
- The Derby will begin and end with the sound of an air horn.
- All fish entered must be caught by hook and line, rod, and reel.
- All fish entered MUST be cast, caught, and reeled in by the registered child.
- For children in the 1-4 age division parents are permitted to help cast- parents cannot fish for their children and children must be actively involved in the catching of all fish.
- Any contestant under the age of ten must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- All contestants must fish from the shoreline. Boats, rafts, or any type of floatation devices will not be allowed.
- All fish must be caught by the contestant’s fishing pole. Once measured, all fish must be released back into Pierson Lake (catch and release policy)
- Fish caught during the Derby will be measured and entered on a data sheet by the Fishing Derby judges. Derby fish are tallied up and looked over for a chance to win one of the 3 prizes.
- Contestants can only place within one of 3 categories per age group (1 prize per contestant).
- Largest Fish
- Smallest Fish
- Most Unique Catch
- All decisions by judges are final. Any arguments or disagreements will be immediate grounds for disqualification.

Other Notes:- There will be no food vendors, families are encouraged to bring any refreshments they need.
- No alcoholic beverages will be allowed at this event!
- Remember to bring sunscreen, lawn chairs, and all fishing equipment.
